The best way to get form submissions into Trello

Today we’re making sure nothing slips through the cracks if you're receiving enquiries through a form! This one relies on a little collaborative magic between Blue Cat Forms and Email for Trello. Let's check it out.

Receiving form submissions directly into your Trello workspace is a great way to streamline your incoming enquiries. We’ve written a bit before about how to connect common contact forms to Trello, and even how to get Google Forms into Trello with the help of Zapier. But while all these solutions work, they can be a bit of a hack.

Enter – Blue Cat Forms. Specifically built to integrate with Trello, this is the simplest way to direct form submissions into Trello. Plus, it’s even better with the Email for Trello Power-Up, which lets you reply via email – directly from your Trello workspace.

Get your form into Trello with Blue Cat

Blue Cat forms fully support all the fields on your Trello cards – including Custom Fields and attachments! Just drag and drop the fields you need to create your form.

This example is a booking form, but yours could be for anything! Help tickets, job applications – the use cases are endless.

All you need to do to embed your form on your website is to copy and paste the code into the backend of your site.

When a customer submits enquiry via your Blue Cat form, a Trello card will be created on your board. The relevant fields of this Trello card will be automatically populated with the values that your customer gave when they submitted the form.

Reply to your form submission with Email for Trello

Using Email for Trello, you can automatically send out an email as soon as a form response is received. Simply set up an automation rule to send out a Saved Reply. The trick to making this work is to use a Trello Custom field foryour customer’s email address. Blue Cat Forms will set this value and an automation rule will use the value to send an email.

This Trello automation will send the Saved Reply with the “autoreply” keyword as an email.

By sending an auto-reply, you are kickstarting a new email thread, so that you can continue the email conversation – right from Trello!
