New feature: Contact management in Email for Trello

We’ve added more powerful contact management tools to Email for Trello! View email activity, import contacts, group contacts by organization, add custom notes and more.

We’re excited to announce that the Email for Trello Power-Up is taking a big step forward with our latest feature release. We’ve been hard at work developing more advanced contact management tools for better CRM management.

As an Email for Trello user, you already enjoy the convenience of managing your contacts and communications within the Trello interface. Our new CRM features build on that foundation, offering more powerful contact management functionality to take your email workflow to the next level.

Introducing our new contact management features

Let’s take a closer look at the key new features and improvements. Click on the SendBoard button in the top Trello menu to open the new contact management dashboard.

From the activity tab, you can view recent activity from your current board or all the mailboxes in your workspace. This includes inbound and outbound emails, as well as contact notes.

Our new dark mode release also means that you can enjoy our new CRM dashboard in the same theme as your Trello board.

Easily manage your contacts

The contacts tab is a list of all your existing contacts. Any correspondent you engage with via Email for Trello will be automatically created as a contact, with a dynamic avatar based on their name. If they’ve set a Gravatar, you’ll see that instead.

Search contacts (more improvements coming!)

Based on feedback from beta testers, we’re working on further improvements to this feature, including faster search and more flexible filters.

When released, search will include the ability to find contacts by name, email or organization. Any contacts you have archived will not appear in your list, but will be visible via the search function.

Import and export contacts

Easily import and export contacts to and from Trello with our intuitive import and export functionality. Use our downloadable CSV template to help you quickly upload your contacts  – no need for manual data entry!

View individual contacts

Click through to any individual contact to see recent activity related to them, including statistics about how many emails you have sent and received.

Our new contact notes feature also allows you to easily add custom notes, providing you with greater detail and flexibility in managing your contacts:

  • Add, remove and edit notes associated with a contact

  • Pin a note to fix it to the top of a contact (and unpin it when it’s no longer needed)

Group contacts by organization

The latest release also includes the ability to group contacts by company or organization for better contact management and ease of reference.

Group your contacts automatically based on their email address

Any email domains you add to an organization will be used to automatically assign existing and new correspondents to the correct organization based on their email address.

For example, if info@petcuts.net is already in the ‘Pet Cuts’ organization, any new correspondence from another address on the same email domain (i.e. david@petcuts.net) will be automatically assigned to the ‘Pet Cuts’ organization.

Streamline contact management with Email for Trello

With Email for Trello’s new contact management features, we hope to bring even more functionality and convenience to your email workflow. Group contacts by organization, import and manage contacts more easily, and see all email activity across Trello at a glance from our new CRM dashboard.
