How to turn on dark mode in Trello
We’ve added dark mode to Email for Trello so that you can choose your brightness setting when writing and sending emails.
Trello has a built-in dark mode, and switching it on takes a couple of clicks. If you run a shared inbox on your board with Email for Trello, your emails now go dark too, so reading and writing emails matches the rest of your board.
This guide covers how to turn on dark mode in Trello, and what changed in Email for Trello to support it.
Dark mode in Email for Trello
The Email for Trello Power-Up follows your Trello theme settings. Open the email composer and you can read your conversations and write emails in dark mode.
(The email pop-up used to show in light mode whatever your Trello theme was set to, so this brings it in line.)
Your contact management dashboard also enables to view your email activity, contacts and organizations in dark mode.
How to activate dark mode in Email for Trello
Email for Trello’s dark mode works off the theme settings on your Trello board.
To switch to dark mode on your board, click the circle in the top right of your Trello board. Here you can select either ‘dark’, ‘light’, or ‘automatic’ (which will follow whatever settings you have set for your system).
Why use dark mode?
Come to the dark side
Switching to dark mode cuts down on the light emitted by your device screen, while still maintaining enough color contrast for readability. It reduces eye strain, conserves battery life and makes reading more comfortable, especially in low-light settings.
